OmniHelp (OH) is a free Open Source LGPL cross-platform, cross-browser tri-pane Help viewer. It's the only one we know of that is not locked by licensing to a proprietary help-creation tool. Anyone can implement it with our blessings and support. The project is hosted on SourceForge.

We want to make DITA2Go affordable for everyone who needs it, especially in this challenging economic environment. So the Basic version of DITA2Go is free. This allows those who are unable for budgetary reasons to purchase it to have the benefit of a system that seriously outperforms the DITA-OT at the same cost, zero.

DITA2Go is a Windows software tool that converts DITA content to these and other formats:

• HTML and XML (XHTML, Flat XML, DITA, and DocBook)
• Microsoft Word RTF (for Word 6, 97, 2000, XP, 2003, 2007, and 2010)
• On-line Help: Microsoft HTML Help, Eclipse Help, JavaHelp, Oracle Help for Java, WinHelp
• OmniHelp, a browser-based Open Source cross-platform Help system (hosted on SourceForge).

Jeremy H. Griffith, the founder of Omni Systems, passed away in 2014. DITA2Go is still available for download, at no charge. As Jeremy wished, the source code will be made available on SourceForge for further development.

We want to make DITA2Go affordable for everyone who needs it, especially in this challenging economic environment. So we have priced it at the minimum consistent with providing quality support and enhancements. While other commercial products that support DITA input start at $895 and go up from there (way up), we have priced DITA2Go at only $US 295, including full email support and all upgrades for the first year. After that, continuing support and upgrades are only $75 per year, an order of magnitude less than other commercial options.

Welcome to the DITA2Go blogs. Any registered user of DITA2Go is welcome to set up their own blog here, for information related in some way to the interests of the DITA community. This is a particularly good place for DITA consultants to share their expertise with the rapidly-growing number of newcomers DITA is attracting. Have fun!

We don't offer reseller discounts at all. Nonetheless, quite a few resellers do choose to buy from us, and we are willing to bill through a reseller. However, just as with direct orders, we do not ship until we receive payment. When you use a credit card, we usually ship the same day, often within an hour.
