trying to set up, running project crashes DCL NT

I installed dita2go according to the user's guide instructions, thought I had everything set up right, ran the provided test projects without problem. When I try to run a project that I've created, it stops and shows a

"DCL NT console driver has stopped working"

error. This happens regardless of the output type I choose and whether I run as administrator or not. I even tried running in XP compatibility mode. I'm running Windows 7/64-bit. Is that the problem?

Some DITA structures can cause DCL errors

I had this problem, and traced it to certain structures in my DITA source. Specifically, DITA2GO did not seem to like a <concept> following a <conbody> (a permissible option in DITA 1.1); in these cases I used <section> instead. It also did not like some loosened <task> structures specified in DITA 1.2 for the ditabase.dtd, such as a <task> with no <taskbody>.

Possible Setup problems

Hi Joanne! Just saw your forum post. I use 64-bit Win 7
myself, no problem. Could you send me a test case, so I can
try to reproduce it here? Include the DITA maps, topic files,
the .ini files from the output dir and documents dir (if any),
and any outputs you get (like the log file), all in one .zip,
and I'll look into it promptly.

Also, we keep the very latest versions of the exes and
DLLs in a public Dropbox folder:

You might try downloading those first and putting them
in %omsyshome%\common\bin over the existing ones. You did
add that to your System (not User) PATH, at the very front,
right? And also the definition of OMSYSHOME as a System
environment var? Make sure the permissions of everything
in that %omsyshome% tree allow full access to everyone.

Any updated info?

I'm having the same problem, and was wondering what the final resolution for this turned out to be.

Setup problem?

I don't know what it was for Joanne, but something in the advice we gave her worked. We said:

We're not using the dropbox public folder any more, but there are newer versions of most files on the Download | Basic Software page under Betas. And we'll be releasing a new full update in the next week.

HTH!

that worked

That worked, thanks!
